POSITION: School-Based Mental Health Counselor, Anderson County Board of Education
QUALIFICATIONS:
• Master’s degree and current LPC, LMSW, LISW, or LISW-CP SC License is required. LPC-A may be considered with appropriate experience. • Experience with mental health assessments, diagnosis, and treatment. • A minimum of 2 years of experience in a school setting is preferred. • Proficiency in Microsoft 365 to include Teams; experience with EHR programs a plus.
REPORTS TO: Anderson County Board of Education
POSITION GOALS:
• Provide comprehensive mental health assessment, diagnosis, and counseling services to students at an in-person school-based setting. • Refer to other appropriate services for students and families. • Assess mental status, suicidal/homicidal risk, stage of emotional, behavioral, educational development, and assess the family system. • Maintain clear and accurate records and meet established timelines. • Collaborate with other professionals, including psychiatrists, psychologists, Primary Care Doctors, and others as needed. • Communicate effectively in oral and written form with school staff, district personnel, families, and outside agencies to ensure coordination of services.
TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT: Academic Year 2024-2025 (Permanent 190 Day Position)
PRIMARY LOCATION: Anderson School District One
