Job Description:


The HVAC Technician is responsible for performing routine maintenance and repairs on heating, cooling, and ventilation systems to ensure optimal performance and efficiency. The technician will work on commercial HVAC systems, conducting inspections, troubleshooting issues, and ensuring compliance with safety standards. This role requires a blend of technical expertise, physical ability, and customer service skills, making it essential for maintaining comfortable and efficient school environments. 

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Install and configure HVAC systems in compliance with service standards 

  • Perform regular maintenance and inspections on HVAC systems to ensure efficiency 
  • Diagnose and troubleshoot system malfunctions and implement appropriate repairs 
  • Replace or repair components such as boilers, chillers, pumps, and compressors 
  • Ensure systems comply with all safety and environmental regulations 
  • Maintain detailed records of service performed and parts used 
  • Respond to service calls in a timely manner and provide excellent customer service 
  • Collaborate with other tradespeople and contractors on larger projects 
  • Stay updated on industry trends, technologies, and best practices 

 

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent; additional technical training in HVAC preferred 

  • Relevant certifications (e.g., EPA certification) 
  • Proven experience with HVAC service and repair 
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail 
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team 
  • Valid driver’s license and clean driving record 
  • Physical stamina and ability to lift heavy equipment 
  • Refrigeration experience preferred 

Skills:

  • Proficiency in HVAC troubleshooting and repair techniques 

  • Knowledge of HVAC control systems, ductwork, and refrigeration principles 
  • Familiarity with building codes and safety regulations 
  • Strong communication skills for interacting with clients and teams
